Molly Belle Wright (born September 2013) is a British/Australian actress. She was cast as Aria in her first feature film, Kidnapped (Netflix, 2021), at the age of six. Molly is the world's youngest TED speaker and recent winner of the Australian Screen Industry Network Tony Bonner Award for Best Emerging Talent.Molly was born in Manchester, England, the eldest of two children, to English parents Neil Wright and Ally Wright. Molly's father works as an insurance consultant and her mother is a former Head of Drama.As a result of her father's employment, Molly and her family relocated to Queensland, Australia when she was three years old.After taking an interest in her mother's acting workshops, and subsequently attending drama classes on the Gold Coast and Brisbane, Molly quickly demonstrated natural and instinctual dramatic ability, and was cast as lead in her first feature film following her first major audition.Molly was signed by Gilchrist Management (AU) and Industry Entertainment (US), and roles quickly followed as Young Hannah Watson in True Spirit, alongside Thomas Jane and Radha Mitchell as Lilly in ABC's critically acclaimed prime-time thriller, Troppo (2021), and a guest role alongside John Cameron-Mitchell in NBC/Universal's Joe vs Carole.Molly was then cast as Bella, daughter of lead Bryan Brown, in Australian TV drama Darby & Joan, as Little Emmy in feature Christmas film, Christmas on the Farm (Stan, 2021) and as lead, Juniper Hunt, in feature film Mistletoe Ranch (post production).Molly was cast as Young Meg, in the second season of popular Australian TV drama Upright (Tim Michin) and then as lead Holly in the short, Holly's Comet.In March 2022, Molly followed in the footsteps of Jane Fonda and Olivia Newton-John, as keynote speaker for the International Women's Day Conference on the Gold Coast, giving her inspirational speech 'Show Up' to over 300 Gold Coast based business leaders, politicians and public figures.Molly is a passionate Wildlife conservationist. She proudly supports Currumbin Wildlife Hospital on the Gold Coast, the World's largest purpose built not-for-profit facility for rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing native wildlife. In 2021, Molly launched a fund-raising project which raised over $23,000 for Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. Subsequently, Molly was invited to be Youth Ambassador for The National Trust Australia (QLD). In addition, Molly is proud to be an ambassador for Wild Earth Oceania, Australia's first ever film festival dedicated solely to wildlife and natural conservation.
